A very warm ‘bienvenue' to No.17, a beautifully converted coach house and stables just 45 minutes from Limoges and within easy walking distance of the historic town of Le Dorat. No.17 consists of three self-contained properties including owners accommodation, and two holiday gîtes. Built in the 1840s, the property was the main coach house serving the Chateau in Le Dorat. The two gîtes were formerly stables, and they retain many original features such as water troughs, beams and tethering rings for the horses. Guest accommodation comprises:
L’écurie - 2 en-suite bedroom gîte (1 super-king, 1 twin which can be converted to super-king on request)
La Sellerie - 1 bedroom (king size bed) single-storey gîte
Set in three acres of grounds and sharing a fabulous 10m x 5m in-ground pool (open May-September; unheated) each gîte benefits from a private garden, BBQ and outside dining pavilion. The lovely communal gardens are home to numerous fruit & nut trees, and shared by the owners resident donkeys, chickens and 5 rescue cats. The gardens and field are fully enclosed with fences and hedges and the car park is situated inside locked gates.
Guests can stay connected (should they wish!) with free Wi-Fi and satellite TV. There is also a selection of DVDs, books and games in each gîte.
Whilst No.17 is situated on the edge of Le Dorat, you will find it very peaceful and tranquil here reflecting the pace of French rural life. Restaurants, shops and amenities are just a few minutes walk away, including 2 boulangeries for early morning bread and pastries. The town also boasts it's own train station with connections to Limoges, Poitiers and beyond.
