Paul & Jayne went above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcomed. The one bedroom gite was an absolute pleasure to stay in, it was extremley clean and comfortable, and they went out of their way to let us know that if we required anything else that we felt was missing, to let them know. We did not find anything lacking at all. We stayed for 10 days, and were sad to leave, as not only did we enjoy the gite, the area was great for so many different locations to explore if you are that way inclined. We didn't use the local railway station but there is one, should you wish to travel this way. There is a local supermarket which for a small town was very handy. The pool and the grounds were a great asset, and Paul & Jayne collectively ensured that the grounds as well as us were taken great care of, we couldn't recommend a stay with them more. Great nice place. Total peace and quiet.. sweet and welcoming hosts.. lovely enclosed garden with distinguished clean pool.. lots of sun space if you are into it - but also several shade places. Car can stand inside the grounds behind the lock and gate. The description of the place fits - everything is as it says - you won't be missing anything. You are also never alone - there is always a cat or 3 around you.. The city is so close for both going out to eat and also shop. There are small brochures on various cities around Le Dorat in the info folder - which was of great benefit. Clean, well maintained and so welcome in the sunshine, of which there was plenty. We loved it so much that we decided to stay another night (unplanned). We were lucky our gite was free. This property and experience is fantastic value for money. The town of Le Dorat has a train station, so easy to get to and the town is steeped in history. Absolutely fabulous! We had a fantastic week in Le Dorat. Jayne and Paul are the perfect hosts in all respects. It felt like a warm nest to arrive in their gîte, everything one would wish for is available, the best Airbnb we have ever visited! What a gem!!!! Such a beautiful property. The house has two fabulous bedrooms both with beautiful furniture and modern, excellent en-suites. Bedrooms are on separate sides upstairs so felt very private, so great for two couples or a family. The beautiful wooden staircase leads up to a lovely window with a view to the pool, which was a real treat to see every time you went up and down the stairs!!!! Kitchen was equipped with literally everything you could wish for, from a great oven, to a big fridge freezer, tons of crockery, glasses, etc. Jayne left an incredible amount for us too….bread, cheese, ham, eggs( fresh from the chickens!!), a variety of drinks as well as sweets, biscuits, crisps and a great coffee machine with a huge selection of coffee pods and teas!! The pool was just stunning…. Immaculate and sparkling! There are numerous places to sit, a beautiful area by the kitchen or a gorgeous shaded area over the other side of the pool. There are modern sun loungers, little tables and umbrellas all around the pool as well. Even the gardens and flower pots were kept beautifully. So well placed as well… you felt you were in rural France, surrounded by fields ( loved the donkeys, chickens and your beautiful cats!!) but were actually only a 5 minute walk from Le Dorat with it’s lovely bakers, butchers, supermarket and restaurants! Thank you Jayne and Paul for a wonderful week. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautifully converted house, an amazing large pool and some real French food and drink!! We hope to be back!!
